2015 Resolutions: BEING More

What would you say about a New Year’s resolution that did not focus on doing MORE—ie: working out MORE, organizing the house MORE, making MORE money, etc.? Instead, what if this year’s resolution was centered on just BEING?

Yes, being.

In an achievement-oriented culture that is always applauding the “to do list” and the many resolutions that breed results and action, just being seems a little too soft. However, as I write this post and think about the new year, I recall how little of life is truly remembered unless we are engaged and fully present; smelling, seeing, tasting, hearing, and touching the moments.
Jesus once told a woman named Mary that what she was doing, just being at his feet, was of higher priority than doing all the things her busy sister was doing, fervently working away to prepare the meal and clean the house.

I am trying to be more like Mary.
My resolution for 2015 is to BE more. Join me?
