Annie Beckstrand, Counselor, Therapist, Adolescents, Families

No matter the circumstances that bring us into a counselor’s office, I believe that this wild idea of hope is what makes us stay.

Hope is the idea that there is a possible way through, and that our experience could be different. This is often difficult to believe, and doesn’t have to be done alone.

MY PHILOSOPHY AND APPROACH

I believe counseling can explore the wonderful and difficult parts of your story as well as uncover the strengths and gifts you have to navigate this difficult time. Using a mindfulness and strengths-based, person-centered approach, we will work towards healing and wholeness. No matter how you enter the room, with the help of a skilled companion and a safe, working relationship, hope can begin to rise.

PROFESSIONAL ACCREDITATIONS

Masters, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Western Seminary

TRAINING

I am currently a Registered Associate with the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists. My current supervisor is Terra Mattson, MA, LMFT (License #T0733), & LPC (License #C2416).

NOTABLE

Major coursework includes training in ethical practice, cultural diversity, helping relationships, theory & techniques, crisis & trauma, diagnosis, and assessment, alongside adolescent & child counseling, play therapy, and parent coaching.

Previous to entering my Master’s program, I have worked as a youth leader through churches and non-profits since 2014. I have a heart for healing and wholeness for young people and am hoping to continue this passion through professional counseling.
