Jessica Bradburn, LPC Graduate Student Intern
Serving Women, Young Adult, Pre-marital Couples, & Older Teens
Philosophy and Approach:
There are chapters in our life stories where things happen internally or externally that leave us feeling like we have no way out, that we are pressed to the point of breaking, and that we are completely alone. It takes so much courage, when in these places, to reach out for support. I see counseling as a creative collaboration where together we can find the beauty and meaning in what seems like chaos. You have deep worth, purpose and are made to belong. I believe that healing happens in relationships, and counseling can be a safe place to explore what barriers are between you and the ways you long to grow into new chapters of your journey. As a learner, I am honored to be with you in this process as you experientially learn how to navigate your story. Since you are unique, I will seek to use an approach that best fits you. I am drawn to EFT, an attachment-based therapy grounded in neuroscience, as an overall framework for personal and relational healing. Together, we will explore your feelings, thoughts, and needs in a safe and accepting place. I hope that the counseling process reveals and equips the next stage of your journey toward thriving deeply.
Formal Education, Training, and Experience:
I am completing my Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Western Seminary. My completed coursework includes training in basic and advanced counseling skills and theories, crisis intervention, and several courses specific to a variety of presenting concerns (addiction, career development, group work, premarital counseling, etc.) from a multiculturally sensitive lens. I am also trained in utilizing SYMBIS, a premarital counseling assessment, Emotionally Focused Therapy for Individuals, and Level 1 Brain-spotting, a therapy for anxiety- and trauma-related concerns.
I volunteered as a women’s recovery leader and group facilitator for two years, providing support and comfort for women journeying through both the pain and joy that life brings when growing. Being with a fellow journeyer as they bravely seek to become more honest, and more present to life fills me with amazement.
Continuing Education and Supervision:
I am currently a graduate student working towards graduation. My current supervisor is Dr. Michelle Engblom-Deglmann, LMFT (OR and CA), License #T1004.
